Setting the mood..?

I know alot of players have "mascots" or a special toy or something they set on thier amp. And the other day I saw a vid of Vai in his studio talking about a song and he had votive candles around burning.
Do you guys Have or do anything special when you practice that sets the mood?
Black lights? bobblehead on the amp? booze? haha (im not a drinker anymore, but curious what works for whom)

I want to get my playing to the next level. Ive finally bonded with a guitar or 2 and I want to focus on making my limited practice time more effective. Sometimes Im really On and sometimes I have no inspiration.

Re: Setting the mood..?

Not really. I do wait though until I feel rested and relaxed so that I can make the most of my time practicing or recording. That is especially true for recording because I hate doing things twice. I think getting better entails being a better listener, both to your own output and that of others you respect.

I have a little figure of eddie from live after death near my amp. I guess it provides a little inspirado.

Incense and the SouthPark plastic figurine of Cartman. I get to be relaxed and pissed off all at the same time. Makes better music :)
