Seymour Duncan Fugly Bucker... ash, basswood or mahogany?

Before my pair of Fugly Bucker pickups arrive, I'd like to ask what do the good people of this forum think would be the best wood combination for them.

1) Basswood body, maple neck & fretboard (Eddie Van Halen style);
2) Mahogany body, mahogany neck & rosewood fretboard (Slash style);
3) Swamp ash body, maple neck & ebony fretboard (Nuno Bettencourt style).

I've got projects for any of these combinations, but would very much like to complete a versatile guitar with personality and not "just another" guitar with great specs.

Adding to that, any pickup splits/configurations suggested?

Happy 2013 to all the fugly players!
Peace.

P.S.: I'm thinking of adding an Alnico-II single coil (or two) in the middle position(s) for extra combinations...

I would probably go with the Van Halen, do to the output characteristics of the Fugly Buckers. They are medium output (last time I checked), so it'll be similar to a Van Halen sound that Nuno Bettencourt (who uses high output BL 500 Xl's) or Slash (who uses vintage style Alnico 2 Pros). That's what I'd do, but I tend to be an idiot on this forum so maybe I'm not the person to be suggesting anything.

Instead of a coil splitter, just get two Triple Shots, I like the more versatility, and I think that that pickup has a lot to offer.
