The more modern ones don't quite look like that, as they have covers that are glued on. The old ones didn't have that cover.

Yes Hot Rails made by Mrs Bautista more than 20 years ago, if that helps.

BTW they need a 500k pot and .022 cap or wide open. Don't write them off before trying that

Do you have a multimeter or access to one to check anything from a technical standpoint?

No, I don't. I have a newer Hot Rails with the Seymour Duncan logo and it sounds a lot like that, tho.
