The magnet is not alnico 2 or 5 nor is it a ceramic magner...it is a Special magnet that Gibson uses ONLY for the Iommi, the DC reads in the high 16k range for the bridge and the high 15k for the neck pickup is my memory serves me. and they are blades as well...the pickups are epoxy filled so getting the covers off are not gonna happen. As far as the matched set...I would never run only one of these with another pickup...I know for a fact I would be unhappy with it. I hope that helps

I was just looking at Musicians Friend site and they dont mention a specific neck or bridge model. Is this just a MF screw up or what?

when I bought mine they were not marked neck or bridge...I just hit them with a meter and put the one with the lower DC in the neck.
