Seymour Duncan Lil 59

I just put this pickup in my Ibanez. Sounds great except on the b and g string when I strum say a D chord or a at the second fret I get a very loud ringing type tone after I strum the chord. supposedly these pickups are potted with wax. I can't hold the chord more than a second or two or the ring is really loud. Any suggestions. Guess I could send it back. But hope there is a fix because other than the ring I love the sound of the pickup. Tried lowering it, raising it ect.
Thanks

Well I found that if I pick alittle closer to the bridge pickup I barely get the ring. I was picking real close to the neck pickup only using the bridge pickup though.

Adjust the pickups height. Strat pickups are made to be slanted. Check your intonation also. An unwound G is a loud string.

I think it was just the new strings. After about a week they mellowed out and are not so brite. sounds nice now.

Re: Seymour Duncan Lil 59

Back again still got the ringing but i don't think it is the pickup I still have the Ibanez in the neck postion and it rings after I pick the g or b string. Wondering if the preamp tubes are going bad in my AD120VT. iI know in older times this was a sign of preamp tube going bad. Any thoughts on this.
Thanks
