Seymour Duncan SA-3XL Woody Black Hum Cancelling inline with a Volume control inline.
I've got an Ovation acoustic guitar a shallow bowel Celebrity. I don't use any of the internal electronics of the guitar.
I will mount the volume control in the same spot as the existing volume control that I do not use in the Ovation .
I just bought the woody and I want to go inline with a volume control before it hits the output jack which is one of those in the strap holder jack of the guitar I installed.
I'm not sure which size potentiomenter I should use. 500k or 250 K audio taper?
If I wire staight to the pot and then to the jack will this cause me noise problems?
Because the connection of the area will be exposed?
I'd use shielded cable.
3 contacts on pot. I guess the 1) lug would be for positive wire of the woody pickup;
the 2) lug would be for the positive or where the tip of guitar chord plug contacts;
the 3) lug goes to ground for all of them and the back of the potentiometer.
I guess this might void my warranty. So I want to get it right.
Thankyou,
