Seymour Duncan SFX-11 Twin Tube Blue Preamp discontinued?

Hi guys,

Many online shops say the Twin Tube Blue is unavailable or discontinued. SD site lists this product as it's currently in production. What is the real status of TTB? Please pour some light on th situation.

Anyone here who keeps using TTB since it originally entered the market in 2009? Do you still like it? Thanks in advance.

Re: Seymour Duncan SFX-11 Twin Tube Blue Preamp discontinued?

Can't speak for the TTB model, but I've had the Twin Tube Classic SFX-03 for a number of years. I like it as well or better than any OD/Distortion pedal I've used, and still do today. They've been discontinued for a couple of years, but Ebay still lists new ones and new TTB's also. The only minor issue I'm not fond of is that it takes a different power supply than all the common 9VDC pedals. Great versatility in the SFX-03!

New prices today are less than I paid for mine....a great deal IMO.

Thanks, IM4Tone. I wonder why SD has discontinued two successful products. Maybe they eventually run out of tubes? This is the first thing that comes to mind. And why TTC and TTB are represented at this site as the items currently in production.

I really should pick one up while they're still out there. Problem is I have a glut of OD's, including some HV 12AX7 based pedals.

I own two because I love the gear and did not want to chance one going bad.

Re: Seymour Duncan SFX-11 Twin Tube Blue Preamp discontinued?

SD have discontinued their entire line of pedals, but will be bringing out a completely new line very soon.

Its really been a long time in coming. I have a feeling that the new pedals, if it happens, will be game changers. Their first attempt at pedal making produced some very unique and in my opinion great pedals. I hope my feeling comes true.

Re: Seymour Duncan SFX-11 Twin Tube Blue Preamp discontinued?

There is definitely a new line. I've seen some of the concept art (all the SD bloggers did). I'm not sure what I'm allowed to discuss in public, so I'll just say that I'm impressed with what I've seen and I think you guys will be too.

I don't know when they're being released, or what they'll cost, so don't bother asking. :)

Re: Seymour Duncan SFX-11 Twin Tube Blue Preamp discontinued?

There have been new pedals in the pipeline for quite some time, and the old line of pedals was discontinued a little while ago... Obviously there is still existing stock out there...

Re: Seymour Duncan SFX-11 Twin Tube Blue Preamp discontinued?

Is this more BS or is it true… ?????

its as true as any other pedal BS is

I wonder if the new "gamechanger" tube pedals will have any actual wires connecting the 'tube' to the PCB

Thanks for the comments, guys! It sounds like the most safe strategy is to pick up the old pedal then to wait for a while and buy a brand new one when it appears :)

Re: Seymour Duncan SFX-11 Twin Tube Blue Preamp discontinued?

SD staff has provided no comments. Do they still appear here? It used to be the case.

Re: Seymour Duncan SFX-11 Twin Tube Blue Preamp discontinued?

I could go for a new version of the Twin Mayhem, if it's in the cards.

This what I was told on the phone at the turn of the year. I'm still waiting patiently.

Re: Seymour Duncan SFX-11 Twin Tube Blue Preamp discontinued?

I've ordered myself a Twin Tube Blue. So, part of the plan is done. Now it's SD turn to issue a new release :)

GC in my area still has the Power Grid, on clearance. They might have had the Tweak Fuzz too.
And I picked up a new Shape Shifter there on clearance a couple of months ago.

Just picked up mine too, along with an ehx 44 magnum as a backup poweramp :)

Mine is on the way. As a unit meant for the US market it should have 120 Volt/60Hz 16 VAC/600mA power supply. y2stevo, may I ask you to check if it's capable to accept 230 Volt/50Hz input voltage? In other words do I need just European plug adapter (I'm based in Europe) or I need another power supply made for the European market and working at 230 VAC?
