Seymour Duncan SH-AH1 original specs?

Hey peyps,

Does anyone know the original specs of the AH-SH1 pickup such as:

* DC resistance (Assuming vintage-progressive output)
* Magnet (assuming Alnico, maybe 5?)
* EQ levels (assuming something like 6-8-7 or those increments)

I know it's available through the Duncan custom shop with the original specs, but there isn't mention of what the original specs are.

are you talking the allen holdsworth model? mine was about 16.5k, alnico 2 magnet. as far as i know its basically a jb with two rows of screws and an alnico 2 magnet. i loved mine and kinda regret selling it

Don't know if this helps but his current pickups through Carvin are A5:

neck: 7.3k
bridge: 8.6k

@ Jeremy- Sorry, yeah I meant Allan Holdsworth's sig pup. That's the same output as the JB. I'm surprised it was A2 though- you learn something everyday!

I thought it'd be more "middy" than the JB since he has a smooth tone, maybe he just dials in a mids-heavy tone on his amp.

@ A.Ro- Yeah I know the info for his Carvin H22 pups, but I wondered whether the Steinberger guitars had pickups which were more "rock" (higher output, more aggressive) than the H22's.

the jb is pretty middy, upper middy but still middy. the a2 smoothes out the peaky nature of the jb, a really cool tone

I kind of made my own by taking two MJ wound JB's (using the screw coil from each, using the alnico II mag from an old CC, and slapping it all together on a short legged baseplate.

Oddly enough, this combination seemed to have a tighter bass response with sweeter highs, and thick, yet balanced mids.

I really dig this pickup for high gain lead playing and mid gain rock rythm.
