Hello guys,

Hopefully you can help me find out why my seymour duncan shr-1b pickup isn't working.
Last week I mounted this pickup in my Fender stratocaster (1998 japan) on the bridge position. I keep my fender middle and neck pickup to keep the clean Fender strat sound.
The problem is that the shr-1b pickup isn't working.
I used the wiring schema that came with the pickup, in my case:
green to the first position of the switch (green and black are reversed because i use fender pickups)
black and bare on the volume pod (ground)
red and white soldered together and taped off

When the shr-1b pickup is wired in this way I get a humming sound in the bridge position but when i play the guitar the pickup isn't working (no sound at all)

In the attachment you can find my original Fender wiring schema with Fender pickups.
Can you help me find out what is going on?
Is it possible to test a shr-1b pickup? Can i measure it for example with a multimeter?

Thank you very much for your help!

Best regards,
Jeroen

The wiring scheme and your connections seems to be right. I would solder the green wire off and test with the multimeter between green and black.

Hello Hamerfan,
I tested and soldered the connections again and now it works.\
Thank you for your help.

Jeroen
