Great amp. Awesome in fact.
Possibly the most guitaristic amp ever made. It can’t make a bad sound, wherever you put the eq.
I just finished rebuilding mine, and am looking for another to work on.
Definitely needs a Sylvania black-plate 5u4GB rectifier valve though.
Seymour Duncan Convertible amps and Mullards are a match made in heaven.
My amp was £250 with flight case. The 8 Mullards cost £600. 5u4GB was £40, and I kept the original Groove Tube EL34’s.



First pic is the day it arrived. 2nd pic is after the nut and bolt rebuild. 3rd pic is after I bought a Lehle P-split, another Palmer PDI-03, and another Joe Meek VC6Q, and finally incorporated the Convertible into my new two amp recording setup - through a stereo Rane mixer.
