Seymour Tweak Fuzz...does anyone use them?

I just checked out the video demo of this pedal...and i want one! They sound awesome in the little video done by Blues, and i had never really heard much about them.

Does anyone use them?

Re: Seymour Tweak Fuzz...does anyone use them?

yea i have one, and i like it quite a bit. the thing about other fuzzes i've tried, such as the fulltone 69 and 70' and Roger Mayer Axis Fuzz, is that they have alot of ouput and alot of bass.....two things i dont like. The tweak fuzz has settings to take away that bass, which is exactly what i was looking for. It also seems to be more compressed sounding to me, and i prefer that, cause i like that compressed lead sound that is easily shaped under your fingers

Re: Seymour Tweak Fuzz...does anyone use them?

Man i want one, and i found a store in Melbourne here that sells them for the same price as a metal zone hahahahahaa

Re: Seymour Tweak Fuzz...does anyone use them?

I have one too, and in terms of my being able to shape the tone and have a wide range of musical tones, it's the most versatile fuzz I own.

Very, very "tweak"-able. The controls really work well and have alot of range and most importantly, it produces a very musical tone.

I do have a few in stock if you guys are interested in one.

I have one. Love what it does. Very 'tweakable' obviously. I use it more for recording than I do with my band, but I really like having it as my fuzz option.

That sounds cool...how much would you be talking about? Also while im at it, do you stock dimarzio pickups?

Cheers Lew,

YA.

Re: Seymour Tweak Fuzz...does anyone use them?

I don't know how much things are in Austrailia, but the Tweak Fuzz only costs $100 here, so it shouldn't be too much. It's a lot for a little.

And Lew doesn't sell DiMarzios.

Re: Seymour Tweak Fuzz...does anyone use them?

Yeah didnt think he did sell dimarzios...and the tweak fuzz isn't all that expensive here so yeah ill probably just get it from here...but if lew sold dimarzios and the tweak fuzz i might have been able to place an alright sized order :D

That'd be cool. I don't mean to be one to assume, but I don't really think that Lew likes DiMarzio pups. I've only really heard him talk about Duncans, Frailins, and Bardens.

Re: Seymour Tweak Fuzz...does anyone use them?

The video is thru a SEARs Silvertone HAHAHA

Those amps are such a trip. My friend had one. I think they sound like crap, but they have character. BLUES S. makes it sound good!

Blues has pretty much stopped using his Dirty Boy amps in favor of smaller/old funky combo amps. And FWIW< Silvertones don't souind like crap!:bigok:

I've been offered the Dimarzio line...but so far, out of respect for Seymour and company, I've not placed an opening order.

Are silvertone amps an old boutique amp or just some weird little thing?

They're Sears Silvertone amps. (Yes . . . that Sears.) :D

I've only heard one one time at the Orlando Guitar show, but it sounded pretty darn good.

Re: Seymour Tweak Fuzz...does anyone use them?

Silvertone amps were made for Sears and Roebuck in the 50's and 60's by Danelectro I think. Some are great sounding amps...others can be modded into great sounding amps. No circuit board...all point to point wired.

When I was a kid in Detroit in the 60's I'd see alot of very talented players using Silvertones. The Twin Twelve is an especially nice amp and my brother can rebuild a Twin Twelve to sound sort of like a 20 watt Vox AC-30.

He's rebuilt a few for me and my friends.

Jack White's sounds like it's on fire, like on Blue Orchid or Dead Leaves.

Re: Seymour Tweak Fuzz...does anyone use them?

Loves me sum tweak fuzz. Makes my dual rectifiers clean channel into a great Queens of the stone age tone monster also good for soundgarden tones.

Re: Seymour Tweak Fuzz...does anyone use them?

I love the tweakfuzz.

That Silvertone did sound great.

He must be running some kind of reverb pedal or outboard reverb with it, though. I don't think that one has reverb and it didn't sound dry. It's probably been gone over and restored, too.

Re: Seymour Tweak Fuzz...does anyone use them?

I just got one this afternoon, I walked in there thinking about getting a MXR Distortion +, played that and really liked it and then I just wanted to try something else and saw the tweak fuzz and decided to try it out. The guy at the store reccomended it so I gave it a try. He also suggested a Russian Big Muff (not as fuzzy as a classic American one) but the tweak fuzz blew the MXR and the Muffs away! It is probably really great with a Strat because the highest tweak setting with a LP is a little muddy. The tweak knob is like a tone knob, but I think it would be sweet if it had the tweak know and a standard tone knob. It looks great, sounds great and is built well, it also got the true bypass.

The thing thats wierd about this pedal though is that usually when you put a fuzz pedal in front of a distorted amp, the pedal is less fuzzy. The way I used it, (I brought it to a band rehersal in my music school and played the tweak fuzz with a old Valvestate Marshall) the tweak fuzz sounded MORE fuzzy with the distortion on the amp up and sounded more crisp and crunchy on the clean channel of the amp. Good in my situation because Im playing through a slightly overdrivven Gibson GA5 amp so I get a great crunch sound and some nice bass qualities and stuff of a fuzz. Great pedal, now I gotta try the new Twin Tube Classic Pedal from Seymour Duncan!
