So, if Seymour says CC and it doesn't sound like VH, then does that mean you need a different guitar/amp?

For the record, effects and amp are part of the instrument that is electric guitar. You can play an electric guitar unplugged, but it was designed with amp as one instrument, and effects sort of go along with it. So think of it as the entire package. Maybe you could ask what amp they think you should use with that pickup.

But I would trust them. I've heard a clip of the CC and it can do metal convincingly, so I would think it can do VH as well.
