SFX-01 and my amp's effects loop?

Sorry if this answer is posted somewhere, but I couldn't find it using the search feature. Is it recommended (or more specifically NOT recommended) to use this pedal in my loop's signal chain? The reason I ask is that while it does add gain, thickness and volume to my distorted sound (hard rock mostly), which I use for solos, my band, more so, than me, feels that it could be just a little louder. Tone wise I'm very happy with it, so I though that if it was part of my effects loop, I could turn the knob down since I would be an amplified signal. But would that be too much?

tnx.

don't do it

if you're not getting the volume you need, get a new head or cab, so that dimed it's at the volume you want for leads. Then roll back the volume to your typical rythm setting & use the booster to get you to the lead volume.

once an amp is maxed out on volume you really can't push it any farther, volume wise

in the loop is not the best idea ... it is meant to be the absolute first thing that your pickups connect to right out of the guitar ...

no matter what you do, you can't make a 50 watt amp into a 100 watt amp

if you need to be louder, you need a louder amp

the amp's loud enough. It's just that the volume difference when the sfx-01 is engaged could just be ever so slightly louder. Mind you, this is with the volume pot on my guitar on 10. When I trim it down to say 6 and turn up my amp a little more to make up the difference, the volume boost is more noticeable, which is how I'm now using it. I was just curious about the loop thing, since I've read a couple user reviews online that stated this kind of setup.

basically with that you're giving a straight shot to the power amp rather than the preamp

but even 5db to the power amp is...quite a bit
