Here's the thing with Europe, you guys passed a new compliance standard called RoHS. It's proper name is Directive 2002/95/EC of the European Parliament and Council of 27 January. Whatever you call it, it requires that no electric or electronic items exported to Europe contain any hazardous substances including lead, mercury, cadmium, chromium VI, PBB and PBDE. This is a major hassle for anyone exporting to Europe.

The original batch of SFX-03's are not RoHS compliant, so we can't sell them into Europe. So don't look for them anytime soon. Sorry to give you the bad news. Contact your local politicians if you disagree with the directive.
:smack:

Though that doesn't make it illegal for a person to sell the item used to a person say for instance in Ireland does it?

If you want to learn more about RoHS compliance issues, click here. It's a pretty interesting article with links to related articles. I'm not an expert on this, but these guys are. Happy reading. :)

Re: SFX-03 Clips Posted

Sounds like I'm gonna have to invest in this one. It sounds exactly like this pedal gave the amp two more channels. If that's the same effect on the Edana, I'll have to get one. I'd also like a Demonizer for the uber-heavy metallic side of the fence, but this pedal seems to cover blues to rock to classic metal like nothing else on the planet. Add a nice reverb/delay pedal and a modded tubescreamer to the mix and I don't think much more is needed. If I only had the talent necessary to make proper use of the gear I'm aquiring...

I WILL have the SFX-03. It's a definite purchase now. I think a verbzilla is also on the horizon. The Demonizer will probably be the final purchase I make as it's the least necessary to me. It would be more of an idol curiosity type thing. Good for the drop D stuff.

Hey Gr8....it goes PERFECTLY with the Edana. Exactly how you said, it'll add2 more stages to the amp.

In SWEET mode, you can play your cleans in BYPASS (I throw in a little reverb & delay too with an H&K Replex), use the pedal for crunchy rhythms & then boost it up for leads. Using another OD before it just pushes it that much more & it SCREAMS!

In the BITCHY mode......stand back. I'm not a metal player, but you can unleash some mayhem here. Borderline cranked out JCM territory. Maybe add an EQ into the mix & you'll cover a lot of ground.

Scott F, were you able to try yours out on the Edana yet?

"lead, cadmium and chromium" ???
that's gonna exclude a lot of the house hold appliances. how many things have a Ni-Cd rechargable battery in it? Cadium is hazardous but you just need to give it to the right place when it's dead. don't open it for gods sake.

Sounds pretty good to me. I'd like to test drive one of those. I'm with Jeff, clips through an "inexpensive" amp, SS or Tube, or both.
I'm with Jeff & Erik...let's hear them clips....puhlease!

Yes but only the transformer supplied i'd imagine.
I know that of course the guys at SD wouldn't recommend using a power substitute but i'm sure one could be found?
