SG bridge pickup question

Re: SG bridge pickup question

Well, after too much procrastination, I finally swapped my SG’s pickups. I got the Alternative 8 and paired it with the 59 I already had. The Alt 8 was the right choice. The output matches my LP’s Custom and sounds just a bit more aggressive, which is exactly what I wanted.

I also replaced the controls with a kit from Stew-Mac (CTS pots, Orange Drop caps, etc.) and wired them 50’s style. To top it off, I replaced the bridge and tailpiece with locking Tonepros.

I had a good guitar. Now I have a great one!

Happy it turned out well! How is the balance between the Alt 8 and the 59?

Re: SG bridge pickup question

I use the '59 for clean riffs and bluesier/more melodic soloing. It does that very well.

Man I wish my alt-8 had worked out. I think it may have been a spacing thing. I'm glad yours worked, and if anyone wants to trade for an alt 8 gimmie a PM! What do you use it for? Any clips? :)

Re: SG bridge pickup question

Awesome! Can we see a pic of it?

There you go! I think it looks better than with the stock PU's. Guess I don't like chrome covers...

I don't know why, but SD's forum rotates the picture and I can't find how to correct this...
