SG modern or high performance thoughts?

I’m not big on all the push pull pots and 24 frets. But the ebony fingerboard might be cool. And the 1/8th thicker body would help with balance. And would probably offer a little stronger neck joint. Has anyone tried either of these? If so what were your thoughts?

Re: SG modern or high performance thoughts?

The SG HP-II was a good guitar that got buried in the hate of all of Gibson's other subpar models of the Juszkiewicz era. The 57/Super 57 sounds serviceable, but most of us on this forum would probably swap them anyway. The titanium ZFAN nut is a feature that I think should appear on all guitars, and the wood mount rear adjust pickups combined with the AA top (I prefer Mojave Fade) make it one of the few Gibson guitars I think actually looks futuristic instead of gimmicky. The lack of robotuners is great, and it has internal DIP switches (including transient suppression) to tune the wiring, which I think is a nice touch.

You can't really go wrong with these guitars.
