SH-1 '59 / SH-55 Lover / Antiquity Bucker

I want to change the stock pups on my 93 Gibson Les Paul and I need some advice. I am primarily looking for a great blues tone. Something warm, rich, and smooth. Of the following 3 pups, which would be my best choice:

- SH-1 '59

- SH-55 Seth Lover

- Antiquity Humbuckers

I have never changed pups on a guitar that I own, so I am totally new to this. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

I love 'em all, but since you said "warm" I'm going to say the Antiquity just because they always sound so great and always have so much personality...or the Seth Lover.

Just can't go wrong with the Antiquitys.

But all three that you mentioned can be wonderful pickups in a Les Paul.

Thanks, Lew. Since I have never done this, I was wondering how much of a difference changing my pickups will make in the sound of my guitar?

BB,

You just can't go wrong with Antiquitys, the Seth's are nice as wel, and the 59's are great pickups too...if money is no biggie splurge and get the Ants! BTW...it's cool you're in Knoxville, are you from there? I was born there but have been gone way too long!!!

I love it in Knoxville, but I'm not a native. I was born and raised just north of the border in the Bluegrass state. I have been in Knoxville for 6 years now (followed my girlfriend, now wife, here after college). For a small city there is a really good music scene here. I guess being 3 hours from Nashville can't hurt.

All of them are good choices, but my preference is for the Antiquity. It really made a huge difference in my LP. The Seth's would be my second choice.

Welcome to teh forum. If you don't care for your pup choice, when you buy, take advantage of the Seymour Duncan _no_suck_ policy. You've got 21 days to exchange them if you don't care for the tone.

Cool! Knowing I can return them will make my decision a little less stressful. Thanks.
