Sh-3 and what?

I have a Jet King 2 that I am having redone and I know that I want a Seynour Duncan Sh-3 Stag Mag in the neck slot to utilize the coil taps, but I'm not sure what I want in the 2nd slot. I play alternative/punk/garage but i also am getting into rockibilly and i need a good clean tone. I was thinking maybe either the Seymour Duncan SH-14 or Sh-11. Thoughts/opinions would be appretiated. thanks

Re: Sh-3 and what?

Welcome to the Seymour Duncan User Group Forum Cmp. What kind of overall tone are you looking for? The SH-11 is warm with a good dose of mids and a smooth top end. The SH-14 is brighter with more bottom end and a more agressive top end.

I like all 3 Custom series pickups but for different applications. In a brighter guitar I would probably go with the SH-11 but in mid strong guitars where I wanted more push and cut on top I'd go for the SH-14.

I have a JetKing 1 that just put AII Pro's into. I believe mine is basswood and yours is mahogany however. The Stag Mag should be killer in the neck of that. As Robert said, any of those Customs should go nicely in the bridge.
