SH-55n Seth Lover

I've seen photos of the SH-55n in the neck position with the pole pieces close to the neck and others positioned with the pole pieces closer to the bridge? Would someone please explain the different placings? Advantage/Disadvantage etc. Thanks.

typical install is with the neck pups screw poles closer to the neck, bridge pup screws closer to the bridge.

by flipping the neck pup around you get a slightly brighter, clearer tone at the expense of a little girth. its a subtle difference.
