for the bridge, low E side raised higher than the high e side. start off with the polepieces flat. you might end up raising the EAD screws a little and dropping the pickup a hair, just like you would with a JB. I never had an issue running the Distortion nice and close to the strings though.

sounds like a bad@ss setup. Distortion pups through a 6505 :headbang:

we have similar taste in music - I would guess you don't have to dial in much gain on that Peavey for modern melodic hardcore.

Re: SH-6 pickup height

yeah man. I havnt heard much about strats with distortions, but thats how new sounds are made, right? Yeah, I usually run the "Normal" input with the gain like 5-6 o-clock. Run more like a Marshall, really, but with the added bonus of chest-thumping mutes a la "Resonance" and the whole Marshall "Plastic jacks" thing never hit me as reliable....Not that I don't like 'em

I think it'll work out well. The Distortion is bright, so be prepared to use the tone knob, especially in a superstrat, but through the right amp (which I think you have) it'll go from heavy/thick to flat-out brutal. if it's still a little over-the-top, I'd try a 280K "Superpot" volume pot from RS Guitarworks (assuming you're using 500K pots now).
