SH-8 Invader (Neck and Bridge) or SH-5 (Bridge) SH-8 Invader (Neck)

So I have a Schecter Solo-6 Hellraiser that had Active EMG 81 (Bridge) 89 (Neck) and a Line-6 Spider III Amplifier with a great distortion setting that I customized. The only problem is I don't have much sustain when I play on the higher frets. (soloing). I get about 2-3 seconds of sustain when holding a note. I don't know if it is an amplifier thing or pickup. Or even if its effects they use in studio and live... Either way i'm gonna find out so I wanted to switch to Seymour Duncan to start out. I know guitarists such as Synyster Gates of Avenged Sevenfold and Dimebag Darrell of Pantera who i look up to have amazing sustain and great harmonics with a great tone. They (in my opinion) have the perfect setups. I don't want to get a Dimebucker, but i do want the next best thing compaired to it. I am also aware that Synyster Gates uses a Sustainiac now, but even in the albums recorded previously to the switch, he still had great soloing tone/sustain using the SH-8 Invader combo. I did some research and figured out that a pickup with higher output would help with that. The only problem i have now is i wanna know the pro's and con's of switching from Active to passive pickups, and which combo i should use, the SH-8 neck and bridge combo or a SH-8 neck pickup and a Custom SH-5 in the bridge? They both show that they have high output. If you can help me it'd be much appreciated.

You're over-thinking. BOTH of of those will give you want, but the Invaders are matched perfectly.
