SH/TB-6 vs Black Winter

Drop B. An EHX boost. A Les Paul thru a Marshall amp.

I'm having difficulty hearing the subtle nuance differences between these 2 in this application anyhow.

Can definitely tell the BW having more low mid and mid than the Distortion, and less ice-picky treble.

Now you got me curious, since I never gelled with the Distortion.

The BW does have a little more mids, more rounded highs and a little more hair on it than the Distortion. I have both in different guitars and dig them for slightly different things.

Interesting. In my experience so far the BBW has less mids than the BW. However, I have a wiring issue with the SG the BBW is in, which I plan to fix today. I am wondering if this fix will allow more mids through. Either way the guitar sounds great.

I agree with this comment and also have both in different guitars. I personally like the black winter better. I just like how the BW eq's on my katana amp.

I love both pickups, personally.

I've always felt the BW is almost more like a JB on A LOT of steroids rather than a modernized Distortion. But TBH, all three pickups sit firmly around the same area of the tonal spectrum for me.
