Finally i got myself the sh1 59 neck pickup. But to a dissapointment the mounting ring holes on my epi was bigger than the holes on the pickup:gurmpy: :smack: . What should I do. If I by buy new mounting rings for seymour Duncan pickups will they then fit the holes in my guitar. I got a epi special. But all the electronics and parts are changed. So its loaded with the best stuff. Hopefully I will get to install the new pickup too. Any answers to my question???

I'm having trouble understanding your question. Are the screws too big for the holes on the ears of the pickups, or what?

The Duncan screws should work just fine in the Epi pickup rings. They do on mine. No problems at all. The hole in the ring is just a tad bigger than the leg hole, not by much though and the screw heads won't fall through.

sounds like the holes screws on the pup are too small for the ring holes..at a guess, i'd likely drill out the pup holes a bit bigger and use bigger screws..or get a different guitar

seriously, save you some money on mounting rings.

As long as the head of the pickup screw doesn't go through the ring hole, it's a non-issue.

I think i have to get a new mounting ring cause I have the screws for my epi which is to big for the pup, and I didn't get any screws with the pup.

The Epi screws are too big for the tabs of the 59. You need new pickup mounting screws, not a ring. Also, get some mounting springs while you're at it. The Epi springs are shorter than what come with Duncan pickups and with the 59 having the long baseplate legs, you'll need the longer springs.

I ran in to this same thing with my Epi and quickly discovered that all is well with the right screws and springs.
