So unless I'm missing something it seems SD skipped SH17 and straight to SH18 with the Whole Lotta Humbucker. Was there ever an SH17?

Yep, they skipped on the number. I wondered if the Black Winter might have been it, but it came after the SH-18, as did the Pegasus, Sentient and Nazgul. There might be a mystery pickup idea that never saw the light of day. Could it be that forum 59/Hybro neck pickup?

The 16 was the Hybrid, released in 2012. The 18 was the WLH, released in 2013. wasn't that also the transition period when Falbo left? were there things on the drawing board for 17 that got shelved with that personnel change?

an Alternative 3? or 4 or 9?

a Hybrid neck model?

not a pickup, but the switchable BMP fell off the grid about that same time... so maybe that was also the fate of the 17?

And I only said it half in jest! Considering how 1337 was still fresh on everyone's memory on 2012~2013 I totally would've said "no dude, what if saying this pickup is **** becomes a meme or whatever" had I been in that business meeting.

And in what fact(s) do you base your statement, I mean, other than your more than obvious biased opinion?

They're NOT Custom Shop made, so they were NOT wound by MJ. Plain production floor product, only commissioned by Gibson for a very limited number.

Why should they cost "a fortune"?
