sh2 VS seth lover

i will be buy one of this pickups in neck posicion but i dont know wich is my best option plz help me

i always play thing like metallica, megadeth, pantera, and i try to play something like joe pass or something like that, pleas help me

Not a bad choice, also Jazz neck would be great for metallica and also for clean - but not that warm, it employs a A5.

If you are into mostly metal, you will probally like the Jazz ALOT better! The Seth is good for Jazz, blues, and hard rock. I did not like the Seth at all under alot of gain!

The Seth neck is on the darker end of the spectrum and has a chewier feel under the fingers. The Jazz is punchy, articulate, and clearer sounding, and stands up under highgain in a nicer way.......kinda like a 59N with the bass rolled off a little.

That's how I hear the diff too. The Jazz also has more bass, IMO, less mids and more sparkle...the upper harmonics that ring like a bunch of little springs way, way up high.

I feel like I am able to get a less muddy/woofy tone when I'm playing loud but want a clean tone for chords with the Seth Lover because it seems to have less bass than the Jazz...even though the Jazz has more "highs".

But I like them both...

I had a Seth and JB in an AS-100 (Ibanez 335-like with ebony fingerboard).

The original question was

and the Seth could dial in a classic jazz tone (as much as the semi
hollow could) and also get a classic neck HB blues tone (mellow and
buttery but with some complex sparkle to it). Theres your joe pass.

The JB was there to provide instant boost/singing lead and
succeeded, but didn't match the playing situations I was going for.

I mostly used the Seth, fully open to be a little twangy (I was
listenning to Danny Gatton at the time). The middle position
provided pretty strumming sounds. I mostly used the JB for
"dark bright" chord playing (ala Bill Frisell). JB with
a coil cut it provided some near tele twang.

I don't know how close that is to metallica, megadeth or Pantera.
