ubertwerp, have you considered a magnet swap in it? Try an A5 or an A8 and see what happens.

Might consider a magnet swap-but I'm a little nervous about the "surgery" -lol
I did do an air gap/air zone mod on a tone zone -but that pickup ended up non functional in the end -I have a problem with continuing to "tinker about " with things to the point of absurdity -

Example -my wife speaking "why did you take that guitar apart AGAIN?-is it broken ?"
My response -"No -Im just doing some experiments"
wife -"but why?-just stop messing with it "

A magnet swap is not surgery. You can do one fairly quickly and easily.

If it were my old lady, I would tell her to leave me alone, dont meddle in my affairs, and to get in the dam kitchen and make me a sandwich for gods sake!

I tried it,thought it was too toppy,but it may have been the guitar....,

Got it going back in the neck slot,with a PATB-2 @ bridge.

Artie, didn't you try the DDn with an Alnico5? That's on the level of a JB lite or JB neck. Did you ever try that DDn (with either ceramic or A5) in the bridge? Was it installed in that Peavey Patriot?

I have it in a strat with Alnico V with the Classic Stack Plus middle and neck. I like it. It's like a Custom 5 Lite, plus a little Full Shred top end cut. It could probably do well with an A2 in there too. A8? Maybe...
