Hi all, Just wondering if any one has some shadow guitar pictures/ knowledge they would like to share?

Shadow built guitars around the 90's but only for a few years.

Here is my shadow s100.

Re: Shadow guitars?? Any other owners?

I never heard of them, but that is one sweet axe. Is that yours?

EDIT: Okay, it's yours, ha ha.

Re: Shadow guitars?? Any other owners?

I must have it sit next to my Wesley guitar >.>!

(Wesley is my name. Shadow is usually my online handle) <.<!

Re: Shadow guitars?? Any other owners?

Will all the MIG shadow owners please come forward and show yourself...

Re: Shadow guitars?? Any other owners?

Never owned one, but I sold quite a few back in the day... good guitars, very closely partnered with Schaller and Claim, they´re AFAIK still around making piezo transducers....

The EQ adjustable pickups were a novel idea but didn´t really pan out the way the engineers intended....

Overall they kind of went under in the mass of superstrat makers that were around at the time.....

the high end stuff IS MIG, the lower end was at some point in time moved to Jap an or korea, I want to say Korea because the name Cort is flying around in my head, but I´m not sure what the connection was anymore....

the high end stuff IS MIG, .

I heard some where made in the eko factory, or European community as some neck plates state. but not korea.

(Despite the popular believe .. and the Shadow Guitar Co's insinuation, that these guitars were made in West Germany and later on in Germany [after unification] .. they were not! In general the electric guitars made prior to spring 1990 [e.g. S/No.s 1000 to 4000 were made by Eko Racanati on the East coast of Italy. Anything made after spring 1990 was made by the Czech company located in North Bohemia)

Made in either Germany, italy or czech rebublic bohemia.:eyecrazy: unfortunately my neck plate is gone so i will never know.

edit 2014 haha

For the record i have spoken with Bruce Perin from shadow and he has confirmed all shadows where German made. Its really obvious tho for anyone who has held one will know they are top quality.

Novel idea. I wonder how those would hold up with the right amplification...

I have a eq5 waiting to go into something. My mate has one in his shadow and there amazing what you can do. his has just one humbucker in the bridge. but set to fender neck etc you really get that warm sound of a neck pup.
Also you can switch between active passive and use it as a normal paf style pup.

There No sd but still,,,,,,,,,,,,

I have a pair of EQ5s in my Les Paul since about '92.

I like them, they produce a wide range of tones. They're also splitable via push pull pots on the volume controls.

Re: Shadow guitars?? Any other owners?

That's mad cool. You must be able to get so many sounds with one in the neck to.

This is partly true, at some point after their prime they moved most of the production to Italy and THEN to Bohemia. But IIRC they still did the top of the line here in Germany, and there are even a few (very rare) one -off customs out there that I know were MIG.... I am however fairly certain though not 100% that towards the end they moved from the CR to Korea for the last 3-4 years, but it´s been almost 20 years so oldtimers may be setting in with me.... :beerchug:

i like to think mine is all german HA. they guy from shadow electronics replied to my email awhile ago and told me to hang on to it because there super rare and top of the line quality.

My shadow also doesn't match any specs in the catalog chart, there's no option for a s100 22 fret flame maple neck, maybe mines the early mig? im gonna go with that, wooot
