Shadow Nanomag?

So I'm curious about the Shadow Nanomag that is in the Epiphone Les Paul. From what I can tell it's a magnetic pickup but has many characteristics of a piezo. It is effected by the vibrations of the instrument. I am in the market for a resonant pickup that will translate a guitars natural tone. anyone tried one of these in say a Fender Stratocaster? The Epi LP body is chambered. So I'm not sure this pickup would work well in a solid body. But it... blended with a true piezo system like perhaps the Ghost Hex System might make for a very natural sounding guitar.

Thoughts?

Re: Shadow Nanomag?

I know from first-hand experience that the LP version of the Nanomag is highly unreliable. It is expensive to buy, but uses very cheap components and neither Shadow nor Epiphone care to support or warranty the system like they should.

Basically, don't invest in the Nanomag unless you have the skill, patience and funds to replace the entire PCB assembly with traditional wiring and components (NOT an easy task).

Is there a better quality pickup of that type made by anyone else?
