Shiva EL34 vs. 6L6

Having only played the EL34 version, can some of you who have played both offer some feedback? I know the standard line the 6L6 is more "American", what I really want to know is how much and how does the character of the drive channel change. Thanks, y'all.

There was a Shiva at the Houston Amp Fest. Nice amp. Can't remember which tubes it had in it. Don't let the power tubes fool with you too much. I used to have an EL34 Rivera KH55 that you would have sworn had a pair of 6L6's in had you heard it.
