Great comparison! I actually liked the 900's extra gain and fizziness, but like Red_Label said, it wouldn't come across as big or bold. I'd take that SLP's tone with a boost any day.

A good demo!

I liked the 900 clearly the least. The 800 and SLP both sounded very good but I prefered the SLP, it was more open and clear to me.

I wonder how the SLP would have compared to the 800s extra thunk and gain if it had a choice dirt box giving it just a little bit of an extra edge.

Great work on this!
I ended up preferring the 800 for fullness of tone, although the plexi was pretty nice sounding. The 900 just didn't stand up to the competition to me.

Great comparison. All sounded great, but the Plexi does it for me. A bit more complex to my ears.

The 800 sounded awesome...nice comparison! I really prefer straightforward demo's like this ...just the one microphone/single track & not loaded with 'verb, effects etc that make it difficult to hear any difference or judge what they actually sound like :laugh2:
