Short Fuchs Clips

Re: Short Fuchs Clips

dunno if it is the clip itself, or the hosting, but the playback is very choppy ... your spoken words get chopped up so as to not be intelligible and the notes have stops and starts as you are playing

Make no mistake my playing wasn't great! I wasn't studdering when I was talking though.....so the chopped up sentences tell me I've got hosting issues.

I seem to have very little to no luck with hosting sites. It was working fine last night about 9 or so. I'm guessing my priority status got dropped after I'd been a member for an hour or so. ;)

Re: Short Fuchs Clips

i'll check it again tonight at home if i have a sec .. it might be my internet link here at work (which would be odd, we have a dedicated T1)

Re: Short Fuchs Clips

I think it sounds pretty good for sure.
Both clean and driven:)
Sure you want to part with it??

nice tone!

Thanks fellas!

I was running the strat pretty rolled back on the dirty channel to show that singing fat neck pup sound.

I really like the clean tone. I was running the global gain pretty high so I could work the volume knob.

As for getting rid of it, I'm still seeing if there is something in there that I'm missing before finally unloading it.

Re: Short Fuchs Clips

There's something appealing about the phrase Fuchs Dirty!

I'm downloading it on slow dialup now.

I LOLed at that!

That sucks Joe!

Just for a point of reference the strat has A2 pups all around. Too much strat chime drives me bananas. :banghead:

Re: Short Fuchs Clips

any chance you could do some clips with chords? .. clean .. gritty ... crunchy .. heavy?

and repeat with an H-H guitar?

only if you have a chance, no biggie

It probably won't be till this weekend. Tomorrow D!ck and I are meeting up with some folks in LR, then Thurs. I have practice.

I'll try to get some more clips for you Bill.

Would you rather me use the PRS or LP?

I could do a few tonight and a few tomorrow, but the amp wouldn't really be breathing like it was on the other clips.

Re: Short Fuchs Clips

Still think that is has a unique and very good tone:)
What speakers again??

Celestion G12K-100

According to Celestion's site it is for de-tuned metal guys. I feel like it has a TON of bass.

It is very unique indeed. It's really smooth, and not a whole lot of punch it feels like. In all fairness it is on the Jazz setting though. It has a Jazz/Rock switch that changes the voicing up. The rock voicing is harder for me to control on the low end.

The amp can also run 2 6L6s for a slightly different sound signature.

Re: Short Fuchs Clips

How about using a pair of those??

It's sooooo ironic you mention that. That's what Andy Fuchs recommends. I got in some G1265 recones for my Marshall and I've been running the Fuchs through that on and off seeing if I like it better. I do, but it still seems so smooth. I messed with the EQ some more last night, so I'll try the 4x12 again for practice or something and see how that sounds now.

Rid are you a big fan of 65s? I know you're a Marshall 4 hole fan.

Re: Short Fuchs Clips

I love 65's and Lead80's:)
Clarity and Celestion tone.
Or G12H, and always greenbacks, those 4 are my fave Celestions!

My speakers started out as G12-80s from a Marshal 1982 bass/heavy duty cab. I couldn't get any money out of the speakers so I just sent them to Ted Weber to have them reconed.

I ended up with 4 heavy mag 65s, 2 having 55Hz cones and 2 having 75Hz cones.

Makes for a really chewy sound that I really dig.
