Short Scale Guitars - What Recommendations Does the Forum Have?

Lots of great suggestions here everyone - keep ‘em coming!

Re: Short Scale Guitars - What Recommendations Does the Forum Have?

I just happened into one of these Godin G-4000s for $100.

It is among the ugliest guitars ever made...but I'll be damned if it isn't built great, and if it doesn't have a GREAT sounding set of pickups bone stock.

Maple body, thin poly finish, Schaller bridge and tuners, nitro finished 24-fret neck with Gibson scale.

FWIW, I stripped mine and lopped off that horrible toucan horn. I am in the process of refinishing it right now.

All of my Godins come with great sounding pickups bone stock.

Thanks for all these suggestions. For all the Godin folks out there, I ordered a Godin Redline HB guitar. Hardtail bridge, 24 3/4 scale length, maple/poplar body, bolt-on neck, dual humbuckers, jumbo frets, 16 inch radius. Made in Canada, discontinued but purchased new for $450 including shipping. Kind of looks like a shred-dy stripped down Anderson Cobra S, but for that price it will be hard to be disappointed.

Wow...that's awesome! Godin guitars in general are fantastic instruments. I love mine with a passion. The neck feels incredibly comfortable and makes playing feel like a breeze. As each day passes my appreciation grows more & more on the design and looks of the guitar. You got a great price on yours. We will need to see some pictures when your guitar arrives. Make sure or else.;)

Find an old Peavey Destiny Custom...a short-scale superstrat.
