Short VS Route 66 clip

Alright, the Visual Sounds Route 66 I snagged off Ebay came in today so I decided to lay down a quick clip while I had a minute. It's only about 40 seconds, but you can get a decent idea of what it can do.

Anyways, on to the setup. I plugged my Schecter (bridge pickup, Duncan C5) into the pedal with the settings shown in the pic below, then plugged the pedal straight into my PC sound card. I was using both sides at once here, with both the "tone control" on the compressor side and "bass boost" on the OD side turned on. I recorded using Cool Edit Pro, and only added a bit of reverb (no EQ adjustments, it's flat). Also, my computer farted around 0:44, and it made the same noise over my speakers as I was recording so I'm not sure exactly what that was.

I think it sounds great direct, I hope I have time tonight to drop it on the pedal board and see how it sounds pushin' the tubes. I'm thinking I am going to enjoy this pedal very much .

Thanks man :). There's a great backing posted on another forum right now, when I have time I'll lay a take down over it and post it here as well :).

Very nice, man if it sounds that good direct, it most smoke with a tube amp... I always wanted this pedal, maybe I should give it a shot...

If you ever try it to push a tube amp's dirty channel over the top, tell us how it does. What always prevented me from buying it is that I'm afraid it won't be good to boost my lead channel.

Post more, you have a nice touch and feel.

I recorded another clip last night (the "full song route 66" thread), and since the last pedal on my board is stereo out I was able to send one side to my PC for recording and the other to my amp to monitor. This pedal DOES smoke through a tube amp. The compressor is astounding, that alone could do wonders to your already overdriven lead tone (it has a gain knob that acts as a pure clean boost). Then maybe add a touch of dirt and away you go :). I need to invest in a mic soon, then I can post clips of everything running through the front end of my amp.

Thanks for the comments on my playing, I appreciate it :).

Man, now I want one! :32:

Definitely a cool little pedal, keep an eye out on Ebay as I scored this one for ~$90. Also keep in mind that there are 2 versions, the newer one has both a bass boost on the OD side and a "tone control" on the compressor side, where the older version only has the bass boost.
