The topic of this thread is the humbucker mounting screws (beside the pickup), not the adjustable pole pieces (on the pickup)

I would like phillips as well because when I tried to put the original screws on my Custom I found they weren't long enough for the springs so I had to use the flats.

Simon, for pole pieces I would buy that... but for mounting screws... no way.

Seymour is a traditionalist. The old Les Pauls used slotted mounting ring screws, so Seymour uses slotted screws.

Same reason the Seth Lover model uses butyrate bobbins, a wooden spacer, long-legged nickel silver bottom plate, single conductor cable, and no wax potting. It's just the way he does things.

Some would call it.... right.

Personally, I think that slotted screw heads should be outlawed...no new manufacturing of them. I have YET to find a useful purpose for a slotted screw.

Hmm, then why does Gibson use Phillips screws for over 30 years now?
I have no real problem with the slotted screws, DiMarzio also uses them, I believe, but Phillips is just the safer way to go.
