I doubt there is one... since the string isn't pushing down on the tail piece towards the body.

Well, I think the benefit of running the strings over the top of the tailpiece would be that you can screw it down tight to the body yet the strings will still clear the back edge of the tuneomatic bridge. However, the angle is not as steep behind the saddles as it could be. I prefer the method I described earlier in this thread. Lew

I like the way the string breaking over the bridge (that's not "breaking" as in "I need to put another string on") seems to help the sustain. As far as the decreased angle over the bridge, gotta remember that Wilde's got a .060 on there for a low E, and it doesn't need a lot to keep it in the saddle.
