Should I get a trembucker? What's the difference?

What's different about a trembucker? I'm probably just going to put a Custom in my Kramer 1984. But if I did get a TB version, what would the difference be? Thanks.

Re: Should I get a trembucker? What's the difference?

No difference, really. It's just made to compensate for the wider string spacing of tremolo-equipped instruments.

Re: Should I get a trembucker? What's the difference?

If it's got a Floyd or any tremolo, you should get a Trembucker if you can. No reason not to if you can, right?

Re: Should I get a trembucker? What's the difference?

The ONLY difference would be the spacing of pole pieces to properly match the trem spacing. Tone would be the same. FWIW, I have used both tremspaced and non tremspaced pickups in the same guitar (which has a trem), and have noticed no difference. If I was ordering a new one, might as well get the tremspaced. If you get a deal on a used on...don't worry if it's a regular.

Re: Should I get a trembucker? What's the difference?

........so if i need a pink one, the normal spacing is ok ?

Re: Should I get a trembucker? What's the difference?

The string spacing on my RG1550 is the same as on my Maverick which is a hardtail.

I have regular spaced SH-12/SHR-1/SH-10 in it and the pieces ae perfectly aligned with the strings.

Maybe on OFR equipped guitars & a 1 3/4" nut, you may need the Trembuckers but i don't know the string spacing of the Kramer guitar.

Re: Should I get a trembucker? What's the difference?

Well it's a jem so the string spacing i similar to the RG.....

Anyway i think it's ok i'm gonna buy a sh-12 (my 2nd one in 3 weeks...)

Re: Should I get a trembucker? What's the difference?

If you get a non-trem spaced one, Its perfectly ok. The difference in sound is just the output of those strings that out out of line, however it is so minimal that you'd probably wouldnt even notice the diff. Tone will be the same or trem and non-trem spaced

Re: Should I get a trembucker? What's the difference?

Is the pickup slanted in your 1984? If it's similar to Eddie's old
Kramer I guess the normal spaced pickup will do fine. Some people
say that there may be a volume drop if the pole pieces are not
aligned with the strings, but I'm not sure.
