It closed, I didnt bid, so is basswood not a good choice? Im green when it comes to the wood types

Re: Should I pull the trigger?

For electric guitars, the better ones are made of Alder,Swarm ash, maple wood.
I've heard of basswood sometime ago, think its used for some low end bass guitars I wouldn't know, don't take my word for that. Anyway the u/m choices of wood are among my selection of guitars. I think others will tell you something else.

Re: Should I pull the trigger?

basswood gets a bad rap by association because it is used in inexpensive guitars and wasnt used by leo or mr mccarty ... it is actually quite a good tonewood .. it just happens to be plentiful, therefor having no snob appeal ... if you like the sound and feel and looks of the guitar and think the asking price is fair, then go for it and to hell with the snobs ... but be careful, i've heard that andersons are very frequently counterfitted on ebay .. apparently a pawn shop in FL was turning them out by the boatload ... best to get them from a reputable dealer, or from someone who can produce paperwork documenting a legitimate sale

good luck
