Should I say goodbye to my Korg DT-10 tuner ?

Hi everyone

I'm loving my Korg DT-10 tuner : good buffer, efficient in a lot of ways.
But it's huge, and nowadays we find small tuners that might allow me one more pedal on my board.
I'm looking towards the Mooer Baby Tuner, for example.

Do you think it's a mistake ?
I'm not sure I have a clear idea on what will be the impact in terms of accuracy mainly, and maybe regarding the buffer vs true bypass (my tuner is first in the chain).

I have the Korg on my “small board” and I love it. It does take up some real estate though.
My big board has the shure wireless/tuner one which is only slightly smaller but is also a great unit.
I can’t speak to the Mooer accuracy and TB function.
I would think if it is TB you wouldn’t have to worry about tonal issues. Maybe check out some YouTube vids and see if you can learn a bit more about how accurate/fast it is.

The accuracy is usually disclosed as part of the specs. The DT10 has +/- 1 cent and the Korg pitch black mini has +/- 0.1 cent so the mini is more precise.

More important than the accuracy is sometimes how responsive the tuner is and you can only figure that through experience.

I replaced my older Tuners with Pitchblacks. I also have a Turbo Tuner, but I only use it for intonation and setup work as it's a bit temperamental for quick tuning.

I have a polytune, but retired it for the Fender tuner app on my phone and tablet.
I'm not a gigging musician though, so it works great for my needs. The app is the most accurate tuner I've ever used by the way.

Based on my experiences with other Pitch Black tuners, I wouldn’t hesitate on a PB Mini if I wanted to save some space.

I really like the simple and easy to read "display" of DT-10. I've also modded mine to TB.

That said, it's not the most accurate tuner out there. Good enough anyway. Personally I prefer big pedals with solid feel, but that's just my personal preference.

You should try the Boss TU-1000, might be the tuner for you.

Not really. I only play standard tuning, with A at 440hz. And only need true bypass button. What the heck I would do with all that other stuff?

I see in comparatives that the pitchblack might not be best regarding readability under sunlight ?
Do you have experiences with this ?

If that Mooer Baby Tuner is $55, I'd probably be tempted to spend another $25 and get the TC mini. Or, go the other direction and take a flyer on the Donner DT-1 Deluxe for $25. Use Amazon. No problem with returns if it doesn't work out.

^^^i can’t speak to the tuner but I have 4 Donner pedals in my small board and have absolutely nothing bad to say about them.
Good sound and good build quality. Great price.

I kind of regret selling my DT-10. Built like a tank, worked great, the buffer sounded good, and the tuner out jack let you send a raw signal to somewhere potentially useful like a DAW.

I got rid of it for the OP's reason - size - but now I'm rethinking that decision. Tuner is one of the more commonly used pedals and so maybe shouldn't be mini size b/c then your foot has to be precise in finding it - not a good thing in the heat of battle of a live gig.

Also, when I got rid of my DT-10, I ended up adding a dedicated buffer pedal to my chain, so I hardly saved any space.

If you must go mini, I have a TC Electronic Polytune 2 Mini that works great. I believe it's supposed to be more readable under sunshine than the Pitchblack Mini, but I haven't tested that out yet.
