Re: Show me your green guitars!

2000 PRS McCarty Custom in teal black (deep green). It's a rare PRS color, as they only used it for Dragon models.....except for this 2000.

This is going to seem crazy, and I HOPE I can track this down... but I sold a Teal/Black PRS McCarty on Ebay a in 2011 for $1250. It was beat all to hell, and the stop tail bridge was half shiny and half faded/foggy looking. It looked exactly like this, except the pickups were stock and not Duncans. I'd love to get the story behind this actual guitar. I have been trying to track it down. It was the first PRS I ever bought, and I'd like to buy it back or atleast have the opportunity too one day.

Jacoblogsdon1@Gmail.com if you'd like to contact me and send me info on this one. Help a guy track down one of his long lost loves. Even if I can't buy it back now, maybe somoene will give me the opportunity later in life.

You could've messaged the dude privately, instead of joing the forum to bump an almost-5-year-old thread.

Re: Show me your green guitars!

Here is a breakdown of the upgrades. Babicz Full Contact Telecaster bridge. Giving this guitar its growl is a DiMarzio Super Distortion in the bridge. Yep, the same pickup that gave Randy Rhoades and Ace Frehley their signature tones is sitting in the bridge of this guitar, the neck pickup also from DiMarzio is an Area T hum-canceling pickup. It is wired with vintage cloth covered wiring, PIO capacitors and a push-pull coil split for the DiMarzio Super Distortion. It is finished off with Fender locking tuners.

My old number 1 but she still gets played a lot is this Warmoth chambered black korina LP loaded with Duncan Jazz with a STK-S4 as the cream filling. Wenge neck (59 roundback profile), 24.75" conversion scale, ziricote fretboard.

If there was ever a chance of me being a Strat guy again it was this body I have. It's a one piece (a little under 2.8 lbs) swamp ash from Warmoth but lately I've been considering either selling this body or getting a different neck for it because I think I want this bocote neck for another future Warmoth build.

I bought it off Ebay with stock pickups around 2003 for $1350, so it's not the same one. There's been times when I've thought of selling it, but it's such a great playing and sounding McCarty that I have a good bond with it. The zebra C/59 and 59n are just about the best set you could hope for in a PRS.

I'll take note of your contact info, and give you the right of first refusal in the event that I decide to part with it with the stock pickups reinstalled.

Re: Show me your green guitars!

Apparently my black Les Paul turns green under black light, looked so good I think I might refin it British Racing Green

Re: Show me your green guitars!

Well, it was green when I first got it a couple months ago. No longer though.
