I've been jonesing for an orange or green metal flake super strat, single hum, pickguard, maple neck, project guitar. I've been casually looking in local stores and online and I realize I'm a big fan of the cheesy metal flake stuff in any color! So show me yours!
I have never owned a metal flake guitar (sadly), but I do love them! I gotta give props to Gibson, as they semi-regularly pop them out of the custom shop. The more like a bass boat, the better.
yeh, I have a green "metallic" roadstar ,but I think metal flake is more like 3s co.^ said big glittery flakes... think Bass Boat, corvet stingray, old Kustom Tuck n Roll cabs ect
I've probably said this before, but if I were famous (and had guitars custom made for me) or money was no worry to me, every guitar I owned would be in metal flake. Different colors, patterns, and guitars, but the common denominator would be sweet-ass-sweet metal flake in the finishes.
my rogue bass is metal flake but its black so does not show up well on the camera. However my LP is awesome silver metal flake cheeziness, but not overly cheezy, just the epi version of the Gibson LP:
this thread is a major gas inducer. there is a guitar body in the warmoth showcase finished in apricot flake that has me jonesing to start a new project. im dying to get a body blank and replicate that finish.
