The "favorite 80's guitars" thread got me thinking, how many of you that have one humbucker guitars?
It doesn't have to have a trem. It could be your #1 or your beater or even your case/closet queen. Specs and a story or two about it are welcome.
Go!

1985 G&L, Rampage

I'm sending this guitar off later this week to be refinished in the proper Rampage Red color. Someone had stripped it and painted it another color and then at a later date painted it red again with a rattle can.:smack: Thankfully, they didn't touch the headstock. After painting, the body will be aged to match the neck. The neck has a flat 25 inch radius.

I dont understand why a 22 fret guitar would come with only one pickup. 24 fret guitars I understand, since the neck pickup sounds poor, but why lose a pickup on a 22 fret guitar?

Because there are guitarists that only need it just as it is,straightforward take-no-prisoner guitar. It makes senses when company like Charvel and G&L still produce those kind of guitar to this date although they are in limited models now.

Holy sh1t,Azcat! Those are serious rare axes. Mind to share some stories about them?

Not at all but with one exception there really aren't any interesting stories to share. The exception being the Roswell which is one of two that appeared in the Shake B4 Use vs Robert Palmer remix of Addicted to Love:

Otherwise they're just interesting things that washed up on the shore here over the years.

Re: Show us your one-humbucker-only guitars!

I've had the TD for a while now, not sure how long. Got to disagree with AZ on this one, the thing sounds like a ****ing monster. It is a fair player but totally needed a new bridge when I got it. Swapped that out and it's fine, the DF pup in it sounds fantastic.

I used it a lot on the rhythm tracks on the Heartless Devils stuff that is coming out shortly. That pic isn't actually mine, too lazy to take a pic ;)

I will add that Epi's are notoriously inconsistent in my experience so there's no doubt that there are more than a few pigs out there in this model line.
