SIB Phaser!! Worth it?

Re: SIB Phaser!! Worth it?

From the research I've been doing lately (reading a ton of message boards lol) its middle of the road. If you need two settings is no doube useful, otherwise perhaps a little bit of a gimmick (yes I said it)

If it were me, I'd probably look more at the Homebrew phaser, the Red Witch or the Quasar. Seem to be the most highly regarded provided you wouldn't be happy with just a Phase 90 or Small Stone (which are pretty darn good in their own right)

Maxon 350 certainly sounds awesome as well, thats how I'd go, except I actually like the more modern metalic type phaser sound like a boss ph-2 or ibanez ph-7 where you've got the 8+ stages and you get that really metallic flangerish tone with the rez cranked.

Given your down under as well, I don't know if your choices are more limited though (and if you get screwed on price with shipping etc) so that could very well be a huge part of the decision.

While the SIB may not be the tops it should still be quite good

Re: SIB Phaser!! Worth it?

Well I tend to buy stuff online (eBay) because prices from Australian shops are ridiculous (Standard New Phase 90's are about $200). I think that the Maxon is way out of my price range as so far I only want phaser in one song with my band and definitely won't use it too often. I'm still considering small stone but the homebrew and red witch seem pretty go too even if a little higher in price.

Re: SIB Phaser!! Worth it?

Just seen the Subdecay Quaser which is alot cheaper then the other two you suggested. It may be what I want while I don't want weird over the top tones I want to be able to find my tone and this seems extremely versatile and maybe I can incomporate some weird stuff in there too. While its not gonna be a soon purchase I have found the phaser I seem to want.
So Opinions on the Quaser?
