i have my 76 LP Deluxe set up with a Duncan Mini/Firebird in the neck and a JB Trembucker in the bridge.... The Trembucker i bought used and it had the pickup heigth screws drilled out for a guitar without rings... so i inserted the pickup in the P90/Mini Deluxe rout with a piece of foam under it as a spring... i cut 2 humbucker screws in half and use them in the threaded inserts Gibson has in the body to adjust the mini's PU heigth...

For me this was easy as my lp's neck was rebuilt with a thick fingerboard and the bridge is adjusted a little higher off the guitars face because of that.... but it gives me enough room under the strings to add a JB without routing out wood
