I used to have a Black Epi Ace Frehley. Was a killer axe and the black ones are rare. Really mad that I sold it.

Re: Signature Model thread

Love the Thunderhose (Dethklok) Explorer. Pickups are a bit weird considering he has/had an EMG endorsement...

I just sold a Razorback, perfect for Pantera and related metulz, but I couldn't really gel with the neck profile, size and weight. Not sure if we're posting previously owned models though.

I'd have never bought if if the guitar came with EMG pickups. Lots of people love EMG and thats cool but I cant stand their humbuckers.

The BB1 and BB2 combo is really great in this big chunk of mahogany. It doesnt sound like a metal guitar unless I want it to.

I prefer it without EMGs too, but I was just questioning why his signature doesn't use the pickups he endorses

Re: Signature Model thread

I don't own any, but I'd love one of the hard tail Ibanez JS models. The JS6 I think? I've always loved that body style.

Re: Signature Model thread

Jeff Beck strat w gold lace sensors. Strattiest sounding strat i've ever played. If I had a recording career or an excuse to keep it around I would have, but... Got angry that it wouldnt stay in tune and traded it for a Gary Moore BFG which i'm busy rewiring. Hey, That's 2 sigs in one transaction! Damn I'm special. Also have a Brian Setzer Gretsch.

Re: Signature Model thread

I own a BB King Lucille copy. I love it with Duncan Distortion pups, so at this point it's not really a signature model, just something with his name on it. I'll post a pic when I get a new camera, the one on my phone has stopped working, and before I haven't ever needed one.

Re: Signature Model thread

Yes, and I like them.

YJM Strat-I've got one in Vintage White but I REALLY dig the Sonic Blue. Too bad they discontinued the Sonic Blue and Candy Apple Red as both of those looked sharp and didn't scream Yngwie. Got it on sale at a local shop for a good price even though it was new. Lot's of sustain, probably in part due to the machine screw neck mounting. Sounds and plays great. Chunky neck like both of my 70's Strats, which are my favorites. If I could get this guitar with the same neck shape but unscalloped I'd have a bunch of them.

EJ Strat-bought this one used on Ebay. Candy Apple Red. One of the best Strats I've ever had for sure. Now if I could get MJ to wind me some noiseless pickups based on the EJ's I think I'd be set for clean tones for life. Hmmm...

Peavey Wolfgang-bought this one after trying it side by side with the EB model. Sounds so good I've never changed the pickups and that's very telling because I almost always do. Does all the stuff that goes beyond basic Strat territory for me.

And to address an issue brought up by the OP...A lot of folks question the need for signature guitars. In my experience, imitating our favorite players has been there from the beginning whether in style or equipment choice. How many guys have chosen a Strat b/c Hendrix played one? Sig guitars are no different, just more obvious. As long as I sound like I want to who cares whose name is on it?

Re: Signature Model thread

I have a jmascis jazzmaster, pics coming soon to this same post. And I recently sold my cemetery gates, but unlike the poster above, I loved that it didnt weigh s, and I bought it with some kind of tb-?? that just RIPPPPED, but being the way I am, I'd take an EJ strat over it any time. Who says EJ didn't rip? :P

Edit: Slayerrrr Reign in blood LTD, also I love the cemetery gates but I was too broke to buy a strap for it, and it was too nice(& bulky) to toss around and practice around on but a fantastic guitar. I'm gonna regret it now. I needed the cash! xD

I've got a Clapton Strat in Pewter. It's my favorite Fender neck.

Re: Signature Model thread

love/hate. if i do get one, id like an inconspicuous model, like yours archer. i could NEVER play a dimebag guitar, LOVE him to death, but i feel like that body is proprietary to him only. That said, i have big plans for the Jeff loomis V, although i'm not even the slightest fan of nevermore. his solo stuff on the other hand is pretty rad.

Nice set of Gibsons, Archer! I didn't know you had the Jeff Tweedy SG. I played one of those and loved it.

No guitars, but here's my signature FF collection, and matching Bonamassa set.
