Signature Model thread

Re: Signature Model thread

I've had a couple of Peavey USA Wolf's which were great guitars, should have kept the Purple flame :( and an early Fender Jeff Beck Strat with Gold Lace sensors that just would not stay in tune. Here's what I currently have:

No pic, but I did get a Jackson JS-series Ellefson Concert Bass a while back. The one with the Rust In Peace logo on the trussrod cover.

my God!!! So much awesome, my eyes burn!!! Im a huge Akira fan!!! I also really liked the orig Jackson Phil Collen like what you had. The new ones are cool, but that one is more unique. The Lp shaped one they were going with was aweful tho.
And, tho Im not really a big Kip Winger fan, that bass is gorgeous!
Why do you say the EVH is an atrocity?

Re: Signature Model thread

I'm such a dumbass. I was sitting here thinking of signature gear that I own and couldn't think of any. Finally it popped in my head that I play this guitar every single day.

I also have a MXR EVH flanger and phaser, as well as a MXR Zakk Wylde Chorus and Overdrive. Besides my Les Pauls, I believe that's it.

I just remembered that I have a Dunlop EVH crybaby as well.

LOL!! yeah, and you DEFINATELY have a Les Paul or 2..... or 12... You playing the evh every day? guess your really diggin it then? Need to record some tasty wankin for us!

My Strats..... The two outside ones (Greenie & Blackie) are Eric Clapton Signature Strats. I prefer the earlier ,models with the Lace sensor pickups. The new Fender noiseless don't cut it for me. They sound sterile by comparison. My black one needs a new Jack input now(just discovered it yesterday), but aside from that both of these are great sounding guitar. My black one is without a doubt one of my favorite guitars!

Re: Signature Model thread

For me Rickenbacker the Rickenbacker Roger Mcguinn 370 12 string with the built in compressor was a great guitar. would like to own one of those!

Re: Signature Model thread

Used to own this music man petrucchi. Didn't like it, though.

FruityAndGretsch.jpg

If I could have designed a Gretsch, it would have been very close to this one. While I very much appreciate Elliot Easton as a guitar player, he probably would not crack my top 20 players of all time (sorry Elliot!...probably top 30 though)...but I really like his sig. model.

It has a regular bridge (vs. floating bridge), locking tuners, useful cap values in the "mud switch" (that is, it ISN'T a mud switch), the mud switch and the pickup selector are swapped (makes more sense to me for some reason, and apparently to Elliot, too, since it was his spec).

I really like the green color (not sure if it is british racing green, but that is what it strikes me as...).

It has a graphite nut...not sure I know if that makes any difference.

Also check out the fingerboard...note how it does not float several inches above the body...it is flush with the body, like a les paul...I like that way better than the traditional Gretsch arrangement (I've played both...like this better...don't care about tradition, in this case).
