I'll be competing on March 15th. I hold no illusions that I will win, but I'm doing it for fun, because a friend of mine wants to compete and he doesn't want to do it alone. (A likely story, right? 
) He shreds like he has 20 fingers, so I know I don't stand a chance.
The Guitarmageddon CD has 19 tracks on it, with all sorts of styles. I prefer the slower rock numbers, myself, since it's easier to be melodic.
You're supposed to play to one backing track and then play solo for 2 MINUTES!!! That's an eternity for wanking! I'm going to use my Loop Station and just tell em it's my chorus pedal.
Then I will play a riff, sample it in real time, and solo over it. This will immediate disqualify me, but, hey -- that's rock and roll!!
