Silencer P-90s

Just received a set of Silencers. I have a question about the pole spacing which is 48mm for both. Is this the way they are supposed to be? I assumed that they would be different spacing for neck and bridge, like 49mm and 52mm. Even that they would be 50mm each. I would prefer 49mm for the neck but 48mm is fine. But for the bridge?! 48mm?! 52mm is good, 50mm is acceptable, but 48mm spacing seems very, very odd!

What guitar/bridge are they going on? Vintage Gibson-type bridges would be 49mm no?

They are going into a guitar I'm making. Yes, vintage Gibsons can be 49mm and 49mm.

Typically, in modern guitars, the neck pup is 49 or 50mm pole spacing, and the bridge is 50 or 52mm. Both of these are 48mm. These are "modern" pups so one would expect them to have more modern pole spacing, right?

I'm not really worried about the function or sound of the pups, P-90s are powerful enough that the poles don't have to line up exactly with the strings. But it WILL look a bit strange to have the poles completely inside the two "E" strings.

SD obviously designed and made this pup from scratch...completely new design. It's just as easy to make the pole spacing 50mm for each (or even 50mm for neck and 52mm for the bridge).

Anyway, it will be a couple months til the guitar is finished and I can try them out and see how they sound. I'm expecting good things.
