"Silent Cries" My newest track. Progressive house.

Re: "Silent Cries" My newest track. Progressive house.

I like this too, nice one. For the mix I would push the little synth figure back in the mix with reverb and a low cut at 360hz. The piano could use some more life in the eq dept. with a few bumps in the higher frequencies. In general the track could use some more depth, with some elements needing to be wetter and some dry as you have them. I think I would compress the bass more, perhaps, to get it to sit underneath a bit more. I'm also not a fan of that particular kick sound on a track like this. Have you tried layering multiple kicks to get a fuller sound?

Anyhow, i like it a lot.

I ****ing love your stuff, man! So glad you're still making great tunes. Let me know if these go up for download or anything! Your other stuff still comes up on my shuffle and I dig it every time.

Thank you guys for your comments! I truly do appreciate you taking the time to listen to my music.

This is not really my style of music, but i think you did a real good job and I enjoyed listening to it.

I like it, very well mixed, reminded me of the late 80's.

I thought I would fill you in on a couple of things as I did really think about the sounds I was using. I was going to use a fuller kick as I actually liked it a bit better but I chose this for impact as it stands out a bit better than the one I was wanting to use at fisrt. I ahve read a few things on gear slutz about layering different kick drums together . This is something that I will experimnet with when I get fullt familiar with my software. Right now time is my enemy. Again though I truly appreciate your valuable input and I do listen.

Exactly this .... very impressive!

That really means something, considering you guys aren't really into this style of music. Thank you for giving the songs a listen. The positive respones are very encouraging to me.

Regarding kicks I don't know what drum software you use, I use NI Battery and you can drop in multiple kick samples into one slot to trigger at the same time - works well.

I was using my Yamaha Motif xs 6s onboard sequencer and the tracks were then recorded onto a Korg D3200.
Since I have gotten a computer based recording set up from sweetwater I do have the standard version of Komplete 8 which has battery on it. Right now time is against me in getting to really sit down and learn my software. I haven't done a whole song on my computer set up yet. I use the free online tutuorials that sweetwater provided but, with everything going on in my life at this particular time, there is always a time obstacle somewhere. Do you use ableton live by chance?

I do use Ableton and Logic. Ableton is cool but for the music I make I prefer Logic.

This guys productions are the s__t! Check out his mixes, productions and here is something about kicks in this article.
