Silly little Duncan Power Grid mod.

I just dusted off my Power Grid. Hadn't played with it for awhile. I forgot how much fun this thing is. If you turn the Gain almost all the way down, it's a nice little 3-band EQ/Buffer. Turn the Gain to 3-o'clock or beyond, and it sustains forever. But I noticed that the knobs were all "scratchy." Not audibly, but mechanically. My first thought was that they had rusted or something. Turns out, it's a minor design flaw. The inner skirt of the knobs rubs against the points of the hex mounting nuts. You can lift the knobs up slightly, but then they don't get much grip on the shaft, and it just doesn't look good.

So, about 5 minutes with a Dremel to knock the slight tip off the nuts, and voila. Silky smooth operation again, with the knobs all the way down. If you have one of these, and have that symptom, it's a dirt simple easy fix.
