Similar amps of varying sizes

Re: Similar amps of varying sizes

I prefer that my guitar amps have a righteous clean (blackface or close to it)

Trace Elliot Bonneville 4X10
1969 Fender Bandmaster Reverb head
1968 Fender Vibro Champ
Fender Super champ X2 head
Rack rig: Art SGX-2000 Express, Mesa Boogie M190, Peavey Futura rack speaker cab loaded with a Peavey Black Widow
Stromberg-Carlson vintage pa/guitar amp conversion loaded in a Laney cab 12 inch peavey Scorpion with Peavey Rockmaster preamp.

I just ordered a Vox MV50 Clean (NuTube technology) to find out how my vacuum tube pedals drive this unit.

Re: Similar amps of varying sizes

I have a Fender Champion 100 I gig with and bought its little brother, the Champion 40, so I could have a similar sound practicing at home without having to haul around the bigger one all the time (please don’t give me a bunch of crap for using an inexpensive amp... it does EXACTLY what I need it to).

For the sounds I’m after, the plan works pretty good, although the bigger one has more options/sounds available (separate effects and EQ per channel, a greater variety of effects & voices, and an effects loop).

I’ve actually used the little guy quite successfully for a couple of gigs where onstage space was at a premium (we mic my amp into the PA anyway) and have considered getting rid of the big one... but the big one has enough balls to keep up with the drums.
